General

No pets โ€” severe allergy, house must stay completely pet-free
No smoking inside the house or in/near the hot tub
No parties
Thermostat is in the hallway next to the bathroom โ€” adjust for comfort but please don't set below 65ยฐF. Some rooms have their own window A/C unit
Noise ordinance at 10:00 PM โ€” keep voices and music low outdoors after that (sound travels across the lagoon!)
Please don't move the furniture
The fireplace is off โ€” please don't try to use it
Lock the front door every time you leave
Let us know immediately if anything breaks so we can fix or replace it before the next guest
The jet skis and boat you may see docked are privately owned โ€” please don't board or use them
Single-stream recycling โ€” plastic, glass & cardboard all go in the green outdoor bin

Trash & recycling schedule

Garbage pickup is Monday โ€” take blue bins out Sunday night
Recycling pickup is Tuesday โ€” take blue & green bins out Monday night
Place bins curbside before 6:00 AM, free of obstruction, spaced at least 3 feet apart โ€” or pickup may be delayed until the next scheduled day
If there's a holiday during the week, pickup shifts one day later for the rest of that week. There is never pickup on a Friday
Tip: follow the neighbor's lead on bin placement if you're unsure!

Hot tub

Quick shower before getting in โ€” keeps the water clean for everyone
Move cover past the white gate door (not against it โ€” it can fall on people)
Controls let you raise/lower temperature and turn lights on/off. Pump 1 and Pump 2 control the massage jets
No glass, alcohol, soaps, oils or lotions in or near the hot tub
Max 104ยฐF ยท limit soaks to 15 minutes then cool off before re-entering
Children must be supervised by an adult at all times
After use: turn off the jets and lights, and lower the temperature to its lowest setting

Multi-use table (dining / ping pong / pool)

This table normally sits as a regular dining table with two tabletop pieces resting on top โ€” if you use it for dining, please use mats & coasters to protect the surface
To switch it to ping pong: each piece is a bit heavy, so it's best for an adult to move them. Lean each piece up against the locked game room door โ€” keep the peg side up, not resting on the floor
Flip both pieces over to reveal the ping pong surface โ€” you'll need both flipped to play
Ping pong & pool accessories (paddles, balls, cues) are stored inside the benches under the table โ€” flip open the bench seat to find them
When you're done, please replace the two tabletop pieces back on top of the table

Dart board

We have a velcro dart board with two sides on the wall of the game room
Please place the velcro balls back on the board when you're done

Extra seating

Need more chairs in the kitchen? There are folding chairs inside the coat closet
You're also welcome to use the table in the game room โ€” just use mats & coasters to protect the tabletop

Fire pits

Two propane fire pits are on the back deck โ€” enjoy!
Standard ignition: turn on the gas, then click the ignition button
Turn the propane tanks completely off after every use
If you run out of propane, contact us and we'll tell you where to find a replacement tank
Children should never be left unattended at the fire pits

Security cameras

4 cameras around the exterior of the property
1 camera inside the garage
Doorbell camera at the front entrance
There are no cameras or recording devices inside the house

Safety information

Fire extinguisher: by the entrance of the house, across from the main door
First aid kit: under the kitchen sink
Power outage? Text or call us immediately. The circuit breaker is in the room off to the right of the living room โ€” remove the painting from the wall near the window to find the panel
There's a second panel inside the pantry, but since that room is locked for guests, please contact us first if you ever need access to it

Light switches โ€” quick guide

This house has had several additions over the years, so switches live in some unexpected spots. Most are labeled, but here's a guide:

Entrance/dining room: left wall by the main door (also controls a fan)
Kitchen: right of the stove, and a second switch on the living room wall opposite the fridge (ceiling fan). Island light is by the toaster oven; sink light is between the espresso machine and coffee maker
Garage: the garage entrance is through the kitchen โ€” light switch is on the left wall before the stairs down. The garage door opener (to take bikes outside) is a separate button right above that switch
Living room: three switches โ€” opposite the kitchen wall, to the right of the TV, and between the two sliding glass doors (also a fan)
Bedroom 1 (light blue "cloud room"): no wall switch โ€” turn on the lamp on the dresser
Bedroom 2 (corner room): switch to the right of the doorway, plus two touch bedside lamps
Bedroom 3 (twin room): two switches, one near each of its two doors, plus two touch bedside lamps
Bedroom 4: switch to the left of the door (also a fan)
Bedroom 5: switch to the right of the sliding door inside the living room (also a fan) โ€” no switch on the game room side entrance
Game room: two switches โ€” one near the right window by the A/C unit, one near the TV by the sliding doors
Bathroom near Bedroom 4: one switch inside (right wall), one just outside the door
Backyard: hot tub light switch is behind the curtain in the game room; deck stairs light switch is near the A/C in the game room. Fence posts and the dock have solar lights that stay on all night automatically
Please turn off lights at night so as not to disturb the neighbors across the water ๐ŸŒ™
